Introduction

Aegis-Link (hereinafter referred to as "we," "us," "our," or "the Company") greatly appreciates the creativity and passion of our fans and community. As an agency that values community trust, we wish to set forth and create expectations for our fans when it comes to the creation of incredible fan-created content, which plays a pivotal role in building and enriching our community culture.

These guidelines have been established to provide clear direction for community members who wish to create and share derivative works based on our talents’ content, so that everyone can enjoy creative activities with peace of mind.

When you create fanworks that comply with these guidelines, you do not need to contact us for individual permission.

We are committed to supporting fan creativity while protecting the rights of our talents and maintaining a positive community environment. Any questions regarding these guidelines may be addressed via ticket on our official community discord, or via email at Management@aegis-l.ink

1. Definitions 

1.1 Company Content

"Company Content" refers to all works created, published, and/or owned by Aegis-Link, including but not limited to:

  • Official talent designs, models, and illustrations

  • Livestream and video produced by us or our talents

  • Music and other published creative works by us or our talents

  • Logos, branding materials, and official promotional artwork

  • Voicepack scenarios, written literature, and other content

1.2 Derivative Works / Fanworks

"Derivative Works" refer to original creations by fans that are inspired by and incorporate elements of our Company Content, where the fan has added substantial creativity, transformation, or new expression.

Derivative Works are creations that demonstrate original creativity and transformation. Simply copying Company Content as-is, or making minor modifications without creative input, does NOT constitute a derivative work and is not permitted.

AEGIS-LINK EXPRESSLY PROHIBITS THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN ANY ASPECT OF THE CREATION OF ANY DERIVATIVE WORK OR FANWORK.

Examples of what IS considered a derivative work:

  • Original fan art, illustrations, and comics featuring our talents

  • Fan-written stories, novels, and scripts

  • Cosplay costumes and performances

  • Edited video clips with commentary or transformative edits

  • Cover versions and remixes of our music

  • Fan-made games featuring our talents

  • Original merchandise for personal use or non-commercial Fan Activities

Examples of what IS NOT considered derivative works:

  • Direct copies or screenshots of our official Company Content

  • Unedited reuploads of talent videos or livestreams

  • Use of official Company Content without modification

1.3 Fan Activities

"Fan Activities" refer to activities conducted by individuals or fan groups where derivative works are created and shared:

  • For free distribution, or at cost (covering only actual production expenses such as printing, materials, or shipping); and

  • Without the primary purpose of generating profit

2. General Guidelines for Derivative Works 

2.1 Permission Granted

We permit the creation and distribution of derivative works that comply with these guidelines for non-commercial, fan-level activities. You do not need to contact us for permission when your work falls within these guidelines.

2.2 Our Requests

When creating derivative works, please follow these guidelines:

2.2.1 Respect Our Talents

  • Be mindful of our talents' wishes. For further information, please refer to the rules set forth in each talents’ individual Discord channels.

  • Avoid creating content that our talents may find unpleasant, distressing, or disrespectful

  • Respect any specific requests made by individual talents regarding their portrayal

2.2.2 Non-Commercial Use

  • Limit your derivative works to fan or hobby-level activities

  • Do not use our content for business purposes or primary profit-making activities

  • Exceptions: Derivative works may be sold in accordance with the specific guidelines set forth below.

    Additionally, monetization through platform partner programs (e.g., YouTube Partner Program, Twitch Affiliate Program) is permitted under specific conditions outlined in each content category below

2.2.3 No False Representation

  • Clearly indicate that your work is fan-created and NOT official content

  • Do not present your derivative works in a way that could be mistaken for official Company Content

  • Include appropriate disclaimers when necessary

2.2.4 Comply with Laws and Platform Rules

  • Follow all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction

  • Comply with the terms of service of any platforms where you share your work

  • Respect copyright and intellectual property rights of us and any applicable third parties

2.2.5 Prohibited Content

You must NOT create derivative works that include:

  • Defamatory or harmful content: Content that damages the reputation or image of us, our talents, or third parties

  • Offensive content: Content that is obscene, excessively violent, discriminatory, or otherwise contrary to public order and morality

  • Political or religious content: Content that promotes specific political ideologies, religious beliefs, or divisive viewpoints

  • Misleading content: Content that spreads misinformation or false claims about our Company or talents

  • Rights violations: Content that infringes upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of third parties

  • Inappropriate use of third-party content: Use of third-party materials without proper permission or attribution

  • Artificial Intelligence: Use of AI or AI-assisted technology

  • Other unsuitable content: Any content we deem inappropriate or harmful to our community

2.3 Attribution Requirements

When sharing derivative works, please ensure to provide clear attribution to Aegis-Link and the name(s) of the relevant talent(s)

3. Guidelines for Clips and Video Content 

3.1 Scope of Permission

We permit the creation of clips and edited videos featuring content from our talents' streams and videos, subject to the following conditions:

3.2 Requirements for Clips

3.2.1 Timing

  • Do NOT upload clips before the original stream ends and the VOD (video on demand) archive is made public

  • Wait until the stream has concluded and the archive is available

3.2.2 Attribution and Links

You must include the following information at the start of your video description:

  • Name of the talent(s) featured

  • Title of the original stream or video

  • Direct URL link to the original stream or video

  • Clear indication that this is a fan-created clip

3.2.3 Content Guidelines

When uploading video derivative works, we request the following:

  • Add value through editing, commentary, translation, or transformative elements

  • Do not simply reupload entire streams or videos

  • Respect the context and intent of the original content

  • Remove or edit any content that the talent or Company requests be removed

3.3 Monetization of Clips

We permit monetization of clips through platform partner programs (YouTube Partner Program, Twitch, etc.) provided that:

  • All guidelines above are followed

  • The clip demonstrates transformative effort (editing, translation, commentary, etc.)

  • You comply with all platform terms of service

  • You may NOT register clips with Content ID or similar automated copyright systems as your own work

3.5 Prohibited Clip Content

Do NOT create clips of:

  • Members-only or paid exclusive content (unless explicitly permitted)

  • Private or unlisted streams

  • Archived streams that have been deliberately removed

  • Content featuring third-party copyrighted material (music, games, etc.) where clipping may violate the third party's rights

4. Guidelines for Fan Art and Illustrations 

4.1 Scope of Permission

We welcome and encourage fan art, illustrations, manga, and other visual creations featuring our talents.

4.2 Requirements

Please ensure the following:

  • Create original artwork that demonstrates your own artistic style and creativity

  • Provide appropriate attribution to the talent depicted

  • Clearly indicate the work is fan-created

4.3 Distribution and Sales

4.3.1 Free Distribution

  • You may freely share your fan art online through social media, fan sites, and art platforms

  • You may print and distribute your art at fan conventions and events

4.3.2 Sales at Fan Events

You may sell physical copies of your fan art at conventions, doujinshi events, and similar non-commercial fan gatherings, provided that:

  • Sales are limited to covering actual production costs (printing, materials, etc.) plus a modest personal compensation for your creative effort

  • You comply with all event rules and local regulations

4.4 Usage by Our Company

By posting your fan art publicly:

  • You consent to our Company using your artwork for promotional purposes, including social media posts, stream thumbnails, and community showcases

  • We may feature your work without prior notification

  • You will be credited when your work is used

  • You retain copyright ownership of your original creative elements

5. Guidelines for Music Covers and Remixes 

5.1 Applicable Content

We welcome the creation of musical content based on content owned by Aegis-Link, including:

  • Original songs by our talents

  • Other music distributed on official channels

5.2 Types of Permitted Music Content

5.2.1 Covers (Vocal)

We permit vocal covers of our music, including:

  • Singing covers

  • Instrumental covers

  • Acoustic versions

  • Karaoke versions

5.2.2 Remixes and Arrangements

We permit remixes and musical arrangements that add substantial creative transformation, including:

  • Electronic remixes

  • Genre adaptations (jazz, rock, orchestral, etc.)

  • Mashups combining multiple songs

  • DJ performances and mixes

Note: We do NOT permit extraction of our talents' voices for use in speech generation, vocal synthesis, or voice model training.

5.3 Requirements for Music Derivative Works

5.3.1 Attribution

When posting music derivative works, please include in the description:

  • Original song title

  • Original artist/talent name

  • Link to official music release

  • Clear indication that this is a fan cover/remix

5.3.2 Distribution Platforms

You may upload music derivative works to:

  • YouTube and other video sharing platforms

  • SoundCloud, Spotify, and other audio streaming platforms

  • Discord

  • Your personal website or blog

5.4 Monetization of Music Content

We permit monetization through platform partner programs (YouTube, Spotify, etc.) for music covers and remixes, provided that:

  • All guidelines are followed

  • You do NOT register your derivative work with Content ID or similar systems

5.5 Prohibited Music Activities

You may NOT:

  • Sell physical copies (CDs, vinyl) or distribute through commercial music services without explicit permission

  • Use our music in advertisements or commercial productions

  • Create AI voice models or vocal synthesis using our talents' voices

  • Register derivative works with Content ID or similar systems

6. Guidelines for Fan Games

6.1 Scope of Permission

We welcome the creation of fan-made games featuring our talents, subject to the following guidelines.

6.2 Individual/Non-Commercial Fan Games

Individual creators and non-incorporated fan groups may create and distribute free fan games that:

  • Feature our talents and content

  • Are distributed for free or at cost

  • Are clearly marked as unofficial fan creations

  • Do not use third-party assets without proper permission

6.3 Corporate/Commercial Game Development

Corporations, incorporated entities, and commercial game developers must contact us separately before creating games based on our content, even if they intend to distribute them for free.

6.4 Requirements for Fan Games

6.4.1 Attribution

  • Include clear attribution to Aegis-Link in the game

  • Display a disclaimer that this is unofficial fan content

  • Credit all third-party assets used (fonts, sound effects, engines, etc.)

6.4.2 Third-Party Assets

  • Ensure you have the right to use any third-party materials (game engines, libraries, assets, music, etc.)

  • Comply with all licenses for third-party content (we cannot provide guidance on third-party licensing terms)

6.4.3 Distribution

  • You may distribute free fan games through platforms like itch.io, Game Jolt, or your personal website

  • Physical distribution at fan events is permitted at cost

  • Do not distribute through commercial game stores (Steam, Epic, etc.) without explicit permission

6.5 Prohibited Game Content

Do NOT:

  • Create games with excessive violence, sexual content, or other inappropriate material

  • Use our content in blockchain games, NFT games, or cryptocurrency-related projects without explicit permission

  • Misrepresent the game as official or affiliated with our Company

7. Guidelines for Fan Support Advertisements 

7.1 What Are Fan Support Advertisements?

Fan support advertisements refer to fan-operated advertisements promoting our talents, posted in public spaces such as:

  • Train stations and public transit

  • Billboards and digital signage

  • Online advertising platforms

  • Event venues

7.2 Scope of Permission

We greatly appreciate fan support and permit fan support advertisements that comply with these guidelines. 

7.3 Requirements

7.3.1 Clear Identification

  • The advertisement must clearly indicate that it is fan-operated and not official

  • Include a disclaimer such as: "This is a fan advertisement and is not affiliated with Aegis-LInk"

7.3.2 Content Guidelines

  • Do not present the advertisement in a way that could be mistaken for official Company marketing

7.3.3 Pre-Approval and Registration

We require pre-approval for fan support advertisements. Please submit your advertisement design and placement details via email (management@aegis-l.ink) or via Discord ticket at least four weeks before the planned display date.

7.3.4 Location and Venue Compliance

  • Follow all rules and regulations of the advertising venue

  • Obtain necessary permits and permissions from venue operators

  • Ensure the advertisement complies with local laws and regulations

7.4 Prohibited Advertisement Content

Do NOT create advertisements that:

  • Include inappropriate, offensive, or controversial content

  • Violate third-party rights

  • Encourage harmful behavior or activities

8. Commercial Use and Corporate Inquiries 

8.1 Corporate and Commercial Use Requires Separate Permission

If you are a corporation, business, or incorporated entity and plan to use our content for commercial purposes, you must contact us separately for licensing and permission.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Corporate-sponsored fan projects

  • Commercial merchandise production

  • Business partnerships and collaborations

  • Advertising and marketing campaigns

  • Commercial game development

  • Professional media productions

8.2 How to Request Commercial Licensing

Include in your inquiry:

  • Your company/organization name and contact information

  • Detailed description of your intended use

  • Expected distribution channels and audience

  • Timeline and duration of use

  • Any other relevant details

Please allow up to one week for a response. We will review your request and contact you regarding licensing terms and fees if applicable.

9. Our Rights and Disclaimers 

9.1 Copyright Retention

We do NOT relinquish our copyright or related rights through these guidelines. We retain all rights to Company Content.

9.2 Right to Request Removal

We reserve the right to request the removal or modification of any derivative work at any time, even if it initially complied with these guidelines, if we determine that:

  • The content violates these guidelines

  • The content is harmful to our talents or our image

  • The content infringes third-party rights

  • Circumstances have changed requiring removal

9.3 No Guarantees

We make no guarantees regarding the use of our content for derivative works, including:

  • We do not guarantee that your derivative work will not infringe third-party rights

  • We are not responsible for any disputes arising from your derivative works

  • We do not provide legal advice regarding derivative works

9.4 User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • Ensuring your derivative work complies with all applicable laws

  • Obtaining necessary permissions for third-party content you incorporate

  • Any disputes, claims, or legal issues arising from your derivative works

  • Compliance with platform terms of service where you share your work

9.5 No Liability

Aegis-Link shall not be held liable for any damages, losses, or legal issues resulting from:

  • Your creation or distribution of derivative works

  • Disputes between you and third parties

  • Platform actions (strikes, takedowns, account terminations, etc.)

  • Any other consequences of your derivative work activities

9.6 Use of Derivative Works by the Company

By publicly posting derivative works based on our content:

  • You consent to Aegis-Link using your derivative work for promotional purposes

  • This includes but is not limited to: social media posts, stream thumbnails, website features, and community showcases

  • We may use your work without prior notice or compensation

  • You will be credited when your work is used

  • You retain copyright to your original creative elements

We encourage you to use official hashtags when posting derivative works so we can more easily discover and potentially feature your work.

10. Updates to These Guidelines

10.1 Right to Modify

We reserve the right to update, modify, or change these guidelines at any time without prior notice.

10.2 Staying Informed

When we update these guidelines:

  • We will post the updated version on our official website

  • The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be changed

  • Major changes may be announced through our official social media channels

Please check this page regularly to ensure you are following the most current version of our guidelines.

10.3 Effect of Changes

Continued creation and distribution of derivative works after guideline updates constitutes acceptance of the new guidelines.
